Dr. Fogel is an Associate Professor of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and a Fellow of the American Geriatrics Society. Dr. Fogel will discuss how to stay chronologically gifted, and enjoy healthy aging. Screening and prevention guidelines will be discussed including cancer screenings and recommended immunizations. We will touch on telehealth options to make sure health care is accessible in uncertain times. The goal is to empower adults to take charge of their health and wellness. Dr Fogel is Associate Professor of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai a fellow of the American College of Physician and Fellow of the American Geriatrics Society. She maintains a clinic practice at Mount Sinai Downtown Union square. Dr Fogel is involved in teaching medical students, residents and fellows educating our next generation of doctors in caring for older adults. Weill Cornell Medicine is conducting a research study comparing two talk therapies for individuals 55 years and up who are experiencing symptoms of low-mood and sadness. Participation in the study will be voluntary and will not affect your services at the senior center. A FREE screening will determine if you meet research eligibility criteria. Eligible participants will receive: •Nine individual sessions with a licensed clinician at the senior center or virtually (via telephone or internet). These sessions will cover a variety of topics like, engagement in activities, mental wellness, and more! These sessions will be free of charge. •Four research assessments with a study research assistant at the senior center or virtually (via telephone or internet) over a period of 3 months.
