Updates for the week of October 12 -16

All of John Bethell’s Computing Beyond Basics (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) have been cancelled for the rest of the semester.


Crochet Class with Anita Frimere will begin on Thursday 10/8 at 10am in the Rotunda.


CLLD Young At Heart Sing-a-long will now meet at 2:45 beginning Tuesday 10/13.


The first class of World History with John Rossi will take place on Wednesday, 10/14.


All Jewelry classes will be cancelled until 10/17.


Tapestry of a People with Amy Posner will take Place at 10am every Friday until the end of the semester.


International Civilization with Homer Vandoros will take place in the Ensemble Room 2 for the rest of the semester (Mondays, 1:30-2:30pm).

“The Time of Our Lives:” Impact of the 50s & 60s in Media with David Frankel has resumed as of Tuesday 9/1 at 11am.

Peter Whitehouse’s classes (Defiance in Spain 8/25-10/6 and Departure in Venice 11/17-12/22) will take place 9:30-10:30am Adult Lounge.



Monday October 12: The Let’s Talk lecture has been rescheduled for the end of the month.

Stay tuned for details.


 Wednesday October 14: Trip to Fronthill. Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes as this trip requires heavy walking. The busses are leaving the HKC at 9am.


Thursday October 15: Cinema Club and Lunch 12pm. The Help. 2011, 2hr, 26mins.

In 1960s Mississippi, a Southern society girl returns from college with dreams of being a writer. She turns her small town on its ear by choosing to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent white families. As the pair continue the collaboration, more women decide to come forward, and as it turns out, they have quite a lot to say.

Thursday Night Dinner and Entertainment: Johnny D with the oldies music you know and love! 6-8pm in the Social Hall. $5 fee for entertainment, $3 recommended contribution for dinner.
