The award winning documentary "Nana" by Serena Dykman will be presented on Sunday 9/17 at 11am at the Joan & Alan Bernikow JCC of Staten Island. It is sponsored by the Dr. Esther Grushkin Seminars for Adult Jewish Education (SAJE). The subject of the documentary is Maryla Michalowski-Dyamant, who was born in Poland and survived multiple concentration camps during WWII as a forced translator for Dr. Mengele, the 'Angel of Death'. Her daughter and granddaughter explore how her fight against intolerance can continue today when anti-Semitism and racism are on the rise. Q & A with director/writer/producer Serena Dykman.
