English as a Second Language course (Fridays 9:30-10:30am Adult Lounge) will resume on Friday, October 24th. This course is taught by Martin Goldberg, who is a veteran New York City public school teacher, with many years of experience teaching English language learners. The course uses a whole language approach to teaching the basic components of language-listening, speaking, reading and writing. Using vocabulary-based units and grammar-based activities, the students will learn to improve their ability to speak, understand, read and write English. Participants will be given ample opportunities to participate and gain confidence for becoming proficient in English. This course DOES NOT REQUIRE REGISTRATION. We encourage any participants whose primary language is not English to attend and take advantage of this excellent opportunity our program offers.
